Commercial Skills Academy

The Commercial Skills Academy (CSA) offers practical training for public servants involved in delivering public works projects, such as those outlined in the National Development Plan (NDP) and Project Ireland 2040 (PI2040).

The aim of CSA training is to provide public servants with an understanding of key issues, commercial skills, and best practice approaches for effective project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle of a public works project.

The training offerings consist of a suite of learning events designed to meet the training needs of both developing and experienced level practitioners.

The Commercial Skills Academy (CSA) is a unit within the Infrastructure Division of the Department of Public Expenditure Infrastructure Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.

To date, the CSA has delivered over 40,000 hours of continued professional development to public sector employees engaged in delivery of public works projects.

Introduction to Public Works Procurement- 5 Modular eLearning Course

An Introduction to Public Works Procurement is introductory level training aimed at public servants who are new to public procurement and are engaged in a capital works project under the NDP. This course comprises of five modules, introducing participants to the basics of public procurement making them aware of the EU Directives, Statutory Instruments, Infrastructure Guidelines and the CWMF (for works projects).
